Job description
Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a vital role in advancing the United States' space capabilities by delivering innovative, mission-critical systems that strengthen national security.
The SSC/SZBC division specializes in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs.
As a Project Manager, you will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs and various initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations, ensuring the continued superiority of U.S. space operations.

Primary Responsibilities
Space Acquisitions & Engineering Support:
Provide expert technical advice on projects across all stages of the acquisition life cycle — from concept development to integration. Assist the government with cost, schedule, and performance management.Technical and Programmatic Reporting:
Prepare detailed reports on project status, metrics, and progress at both the individual program and portfolio levels.Mission Protection & Operations Support:
Deliver technical insights for mission protection, operational assessments, and data analysis. Evaluate and recommend solutions for anomalies and lead compliance inspections, audits, and readiness reviews.Infrastructure Planning & Coordination:
Lead and coordinate classified and unclassified infrastructure projects, including establishing new facilities and capabilities at various locations.SCIF/SAPF Operations and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) and/or Special Access Program Facilities (SAPF).
Oversee facility requirements such as IT infrastructure, networks, utilities, janitorial services, and visitor access.
Maintain accreditation and ensure continuous availability of classified/unclassified data services.
Manage IT configuration, network performance, software updates, and hardware maintenance.
Digital Engineering and Acquisition Support:
Advise on digital engineering initiatives to improve acquisition, sustainment, and launch processes.
Assess digital maturity and develop a roadmap to advance SSC's digital acquisition goals.
Provide expertise in data strategy, digital solution evaluation, and change management program implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master's degree (MA/MS) required.
Experience:
Extensive experience in acquisition management, including contracting, legal, policy, and regulatory development, review, and compliance.
Minimum six (6) years of experience directly supporting the Department of Defense (DoD).
Background in government (military or civil service), federally funded R&D centers, or government support/development contracting.
Certification: PMP certification preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not supervise the work of others (unless otherwise specified by the Performance Work Statement).
Work Environment
Professional office setting.
Regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telecommunication devices.
Must be able to remain stationary approximately 80% of the time.
Travel
Some travel may be required.
